Australian Filmmaker Launches Debut Graphic Novel on Kickstarter

Movierockets Entertainment, a successful film production company, announced today the launch of their first graphic novel, Witches Trine: Rebirth through Kickstarter on June 1.

The premier graphic novel chronicles three immortal witches and their struggles in modern day Los Angeles as well as 19th century England. Witches Trine combines supernatural vibe with modern kick-ass action. Witchcraft, martial arts and sexual seduction are all parts of the equation.

Witches Trine: Rebirth collects the first four chapters of the witches' story on 120 pages, printed in full color. While the first three chapters of the story have been released digitally, this will be the first chance for readers to get their hands on a printed copy.

The hardcover book will be priced at around $20, and Kickstarter backers will also have the opportunity to order the Kickstarter Exclusive Limited Edition with dust jacket, as well as three beautiful art prints of the main characters.

The creative team includes Movierockets' own Kris Lippert who wrote the script, with artwork provided by penciler Hugh Vogt, inker Jeff Austin, colorist Teo Gonzalez and letterer Bram Meehan.

Movierockets Entertainment CEO Kris Lippert explains, “We are storytellers at heart, no matter the medium, and we can’t wait to show the world what we have been working on. This project is a labor of love that I have nurtured for the past two years. Writing the story, putting together the artistic team, and investing time and money to make it a reality.

Why Kickstarter? We are a small company with limited resources but huge passion. Publishing this book is not about making money but sharing that passion with like-minded people. Kickstarter not only gives us the chance to publish the book on our terms, but also to reach a large number of potential readers and reward their trust with exclusive items.”
