From the "shocked, but not surprised" department, the movie rights have already reverted back to Marvel Studios from Lionsgate. Ray Stvenson, who played Frank Castle in the latest outing "Punisher: War Zone" (and also will be seen in the upcoming THOR movie playing Volstagg) has had talks...“We have talked a bit. We have met about it. I would love to do it. We can definitely bring back Frank to the screen.” He warned that such negotiations may be premature, considering the shifting rights of the character. “I think they’ve just got the property back, it was with Lionsgate.”
Marvel has not indicated that they wish to do further movies, but they also didn't have the movie rights. Has things changed? I dunno. I didn't see War Zone, but heard nothing good about it. I liked the Thomas Jane film and wished that he had stayed on....oh well.
