Shane Black announced at the Omaha Film Festival that he would be meeting with Robert Downey Jr. and will work on the story for the third installment of the Iron Man franchise.Black pointed out that the studio was not pleased with the direction of Iron Man 2 and that the third film will not be "two men in iron suits fighting each other," but, instead, would play more like a Tom Clancy thriller, with Iron Man's opponents being more real-world than comic book.
So, will he fight A.I.M.? For those who don't know, A.I.M. (Advanced Idea Mechanics)? is an organization of brilliant scientists and their hirelings dedicated to the acquisition of power and the overthrow of all government by technological means. A.I.M. was organized during World War II as the scientific research division of the subversive military organization Hydra.
There's also the "Ten Rings" terrorist organization that captured Stark in the first movie. The "Ten Rings" is also believed to be a reference to the Mandarin, an Iron Man villain that fans have been hoping to see.
