From the "Oh My God Please Stop" Department, Columbia Pictures is doing a remake of the 1990 film Flatliners. Why? Probably because all of the 80s films have been, or in the process of being remade. ComingSoon.net is reporting that Source Code, Species III and Species: The Awakening writer Ben Ripley has been hired to do the screenplay.
The original film starred Kevin Bacon, Kiefer Sutherland, Julia Roberts, Oliver Platt, and William Baldwin as medical students who conducted experiments with near-death experiences. Let's just say things don't go well from there.
I'm not going to say it. If you are a regular reader, you know my stance on the three R's (remakes, reboots, and re-imaginings). Let's just see how far this one goes....
