A Film Based on the Guardians of the Galaxy?

With the success of other Marvel movies, Marvel Studios Production President Kevin Feige has talked about looking at other properties to bring to the big screen. Doctor Strange has been talked about a bit, but a source tells Twitchfilm.com that they may be working on Guardians of the Galaxy as well.

The original group first appeared in Marvel Super Heroes #18 in January 1969. Each member was a surviving member of their race, banded together to battle the Badoon, an alien race that tried to conquer Earth in the 31st century. The team showed up off and on during the 1970s and 80s and eventually had their own series in the 1990s.

In 2008, a new group was formed from the conclusion of Annihilation: Conquest mini-series. This team (set in current day) was more of a proactive protection force for the galaxy, instead of waiting for things to blow up. There has been no mention on which team that will be used.

This is a great idea. I love both teams, so it doesn't matter to me which one is used. I hope this happens! Your Thoughts?
