When discussing the prospects of a sequel to the Green Lantern film to the LA Times, Warner Brothers film group President Jeff Robinov said...
“We had a decent opening so we learned there is an audience" he said pointing to the film’s box office debut of $53 million. “To go forward we need to make it a little edgier and darker with more emphasis on action…. And we have to find a way to balance the time the movie spends in space versus on Earth.”
More than likely director Martin Campbell won't be brought back and will go a different direction. When asked about other DC characters (other than Superman and Batman) Robinov mentiones he wants to see a Justice League movie and that the script for Flash is "solid."
OK, NO to a darker, edgier movie. Everything has been pretty much setup with the first movie. The sequel is free to move on and have more action. I would like more of a "fun roller coaster ride" than dark and edgy. But that's just me. What do you guys think?
