Ray, Pete, Egon, and Winston (and Janine) return in a new, ongoing Ghostbusters series which debuts today from IDW. The series is written by Erik Burnham (Ghostbusters: Infestation) with art by Dan Schoening (Ghostbusters: What in Samhain Just Happend?!) and cover artists Nick Runge (Ghostbusters: Haunted Holidays). In the first issue, pscychokinetic energy is on the rise again, and business is booming for the boys. Ray is troubled by what could be a prophetic dream – is this an ill omen of an upcoming apocaplyse, or just a little indigestion?
Similar to IDW’s hugely successful Godzilla retailer exclusive cover promotion, comic retailers were offered the opportunity to take part in the special “Be a Ghostbuster” promotion, resulting in nine different covers. Selected by participating retailers, nine people are featured on the unique covers of issue #1 as individual Ghostbusters, drawn from photo reference by the talented Alan Robinson (Phoenix Without Ashes, Weekly World News.) These original covers are only available in the nine comic stores that supported the program.
There is also a "Who You Gonna Call" glow in the dark cover by Schoening.
