R.I.P. Bil Keane

The Fellowship is saddened to hear the passing of cartoonist Bil Keane. The creator of THE FAMILY CIRCUS has died of congestive heart failure at the age of 89. The self taught artist created his first comic strip, SILLY PHILLY during his time at the Philadelphia Bulletin from 1945-1959. THE FAMILY CIRCUS first appeared February 29, 1960. The comic strip is featured in nearly 1,500 newspapers across the country.
I love this quote that was on the AP wire"I would rather have the readers react with a warm smile, a tug at the heart or a lump in the throat as they recall doing the same things in their own families."

Mission accomplished.
