A 9.0 graded copy of the first ACTION COMICS #1 (1938) broke the $2 million mark. The previous high mark for a comic book was $1.5 million in 2010 for another copy of ACTION COMICS #1. The record breaking sale was a part of
ComicConnect auction.
The Washington Post reports that there are estimated to be about 100 extant copies of the issue, few in good condition.The report also said that this copy may have been previously owned by Nicloas Cage before it went missing.
