The artist co-created Robin the Boy Wonder and is often credited for the creation of The Joker, even though that was disputed by BATMAN creator Bob Kane. He also drew some of the most beautiful covers in the Golden Age. In the 1970s, Robinson became a comics historian and advocate for the rights for comic creators. He was a supporter of Siegel and Shuster in their fight with DC Comics for proper credit and compensation for the creation of Superman. He was inducted into the Comic Book Hall of Fame in 2004.
