FREE MARS is a gritty sci-fi rock opera set against the backdrop of a dystopian Mars colony in the year 2339. As civil war looms on the Red Planet, the Revolution finds an unlikely symbol in the form of a punk band. The group quickly discovers, however, that their new fame comes at a price.
"We are so lucky to work with so many great creators but this concept had the right mix of timeliness and unique concept," said Brent Erwin COO of Ape Entertainment. "Music as such an escape that it's viewed almost like drugs. How many of us would DIE without our ipod or cell phone? Themes of oppression and repression; it might be set in 2339 but there are many similarities to today's society.”
