AVENGERS Pulling In $200 Million In The US; $640 Million Globally

I know I'm going out on a limb here, but I think THE AVENGERS film is a hit. Several sources including Box Office Mojo is reporting that the Marvel Comics film has hit the $200 million mark this weekend. That is the biggest opening weekend ever, beating out Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 ($169 million) by $31 million! Of course the numbers won't be finalized until Monday.

Globally, the film has earned about $640 million in ten days! WOW! I believe we have a new champion folks. Can THE DARK KNIGHT RISES and THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN compete?
