There has been some buzz over the last couple of days regarding this shakeup. And now the just released Entertainment Weekly's Comic Con edition has the announcement that Marvel will indeed do a relaunch called MARVEL NOW! However, the continuity will remain unaffected. The intention is to be more new-reader friendly.
The relaunch will begin in October and go through February 2013 and will have around 22 titles involved. Some current books will be cancelled, others re-branded (e.g. HULK will become HULK AND THE AGENTS OF SMASH), some will just have brand new first issues. New costumes will be unveiled, and according to Comic Book Resources, more cinematic cover designs.
Expect more announcements with San Diego Comic-Con next week.
