Bryan Singer Will Direct X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST

Bryan Singer has signed on to direct the X-MEN: FIRST CLASS sequel DAYS OF FUTURE PAST. The director is not unfamiliar with the Marvel mutants; he directed X-MEN and X2: X-MEN UNITED, as well as produced and co-wrote FIRST CLASS. DAYS OF FUTURE PAST is based off the fan favorite story arc by Chris Claremont and John Byrne in which a future version of Kitty Pryde journeyed to the past in effort to prevent the assassination of Senator Kelly which led to all mutants being hunted down and captured or killed.

As reported earlier, Matthew Vaughn, who set to return to direct the FIRST CLASS sequel, has bowed out of the project. He did co-write the screenplay and will co-produce the film. Vaughn is currently working on KICK-ASS 2 and rumored to direct SECRET SERVICE, based off another comic by Mark Millar.

Bryan Singer is currently completing JACK THE GIANT SLAYER.

X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST is scheduled for a July 18, 2014 release.
