ABOUT OUR GUEST JUDGES
Pendleton Ward is the creator of Bravest Warriors and of Adventure Time, the hit animated series from Cartoon Network Studios. Recently nominated for its second Primetime Emmy® Award for Outstanding Short-format Animated Program as well as an Annie Award for Best Animated Television Production for Children, Adventure Time debuted in April 2010 and soon became a ratings and pop culture phenomenon. A graduate of CalArts’ renowned Character Animation Program, Ward grew-up in San Antonio, TX and became interested in animation at an early age, drawing flipbooks in elementary school. Prior to Adventure Time, Ward was a storyboard artist for Cartoon Network’s animated series The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack, working with show creator Thurop Van Orman.

Breehn Burns is the showrunner for Bravest Warriors. Burns is known for creating the popular Dr. Tran cartoons. As a screenwriter, he collaborated with Robert Zemeckis on Calling All Robots, a feature film in development. Burns co-created the project with X-Men 2 screenwriter Michael Dougherty and storyboard artist Simeon Wilkins. As a Concept Artist, Burns provided designs for the Warner Bros./Legendary Pictures feature film, Trick 'r Treat. His print illustration work includes Aleister Arcane, a graphic novel written by Steve Niles and several issues of GloomCookie, among other projects. He lives in Los Angeles and his name sounds like BREE-uhn.

Fred is also an executive producer on Adventure Time for Cartoon Network. Fred was MTV's first creative director, helped rebrand Nickelodeon in it's signature style, and as president of Hanna-Barbera in the 1990's created What A Cartoon! for Cartoon Network, which spun off several series including Cow and Chicken, Dexter's Laboratory, Johnny Bravo, The Powerpuff Girls, and Courage The Cowardly Dog. In 2005, Fred created Channel Frederator, the first animation video podcast and later cartoon channel on YouTube, and subsequently helped found Next New Networks, which was then purchased by YouTube in 2011. Fred was also an angel investor in Tumblr and serves on the Tumblr board of directors. YouTube funded Channel Frederator's newest YouTube exclusive channel, Cartoon Hangover and its first series, Bravest Warriors, created by Pendelton Ward.

When the cartoon company was folded into the Time-Warner family in late 1996, he was hired by Warner Bros. Studio Stores to continue overseeing the production of Hanna-Barbera artwork and collectibles. In 1998, Homan became the first employee of Frederator Studios. Following a brief stint developing special projects for the online division of MTV Networks in New York City, he works from Los Angeles with Frederator, serving as the studio’s vice president of development, managing the creative affairs of the studio’s new cartoon and book projects.
