RUMOR: Disney To Acquire Hasbro?

From the "Take This With A Grain Of Salt" Department - MTV Geek has learned that Disney, fresh from buying Lucasfilm for a cool $4.05 billion, may have their eyes set on the toys and games company Hasbro.

If this is true, Disney would gain such valuable properties such as Transformers and G.I. Joe - both successful toy lines and movie franchises(?). This also lets the company move their Marvel, Muppets, Pixar, and Disney toy lines over, as well as keep the Star Wars there.

On the comic side, this won't be good news for IDW. The publisher currently puts out four G.I. JOE titles, three TRANSFORMERS ongoing titles, MAGIC: THE GATHERING (Hasbro owns Wizards of the Coast), and is about to debut a new MY LITTLE PONY comic this month. Those titles more than likely will move to Marvel just like what happened to BOOM! Studios with the MUPPETS, FRAGGLE ROCK, and the Disney books and what will happen to Dark Horse with the STAR WARS books.

In the words of Keanu Reeves, "Whoa."
