Kickstarter Campaign Started For SUPERMAN LIVES Documentary

Writer/director/producer Jon Schnepp has launched a Kickstarter campaign to do a documentary on the ditched SUPERMAN LIVES film. THE DEATH OF "SUPERMAN LIVES": WHAT HAPPENED? will chronicle everything from the announcement of the project, Kevin Smith hired to write the script, to Tim Burton and Nicolas Cage's involvement, to the project being scrapped.

Schnepp hopes to interview everyone who was involved with the film (including Cage and Burton). He also intends to create some of the key sequences from the script, "using the incredible graphic ideas generated by the many designers and artists."

I will also hire artists to make 3D models, build Practical Models, design Backgrounds, animate Lasers (very important!), make Brainiac's eyes glow inside a giant floating SkullShip, and to composite very cool action flying shots. I'm going to direct these scenes in the spirit of the unmade Burton Version, and hope to be able to create some crazy "Superman Lives" Scenarios!

To do this, Schnepp needs to raise $98,000 by March 10 with the hope of having the documentary ready by this year's San Diego Comic Con.
