Evan Peters was recently seen playing Kit Walker/Tate Langdon on AMERICAN HORROR STORY. He also was Todd in the superhero film KICK-ASS.
Marvel Studios Prsident Kevin Feige stated in the past that there are some characters that both Fox and Marvel could use, but it's unclear if it was meant the same time (DAYS OF FUTURE PAST is scheduled for a 2014 release, AVENGERS 2 comes out the following year). Both Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch are mutants, the children of Magneto, and original members of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. However, both have also been members of the Avengers as well.
Mr. Singer mentions in his tweet that Quicksilver "was just a REALLY fast kid." Not sure if there is anything of significance to that (meaning a younger version of the character will be in the X-MEN film while an older version appears in the AVENGERS).
It will be interesting to hear reactions from the Whedon camp regarding this development.
