Keaton plays a washed up actor Riggan Thomson (best known for portraying an iconic superhero) who is struggling to mount a Broadway play. In the days leading up to opening night, he battles his ego and attempts to recover his family, his career, and himself.
JoBlo is reporting that the winged one maybe a figment of the imagination of Keaton's character. The site also has other images including Keaton running around in his underwear and socks, and him in a harness up in the air with green screen behind him.
Alejandro González Iñárritu is directing and co-wrote the script with Armando Bo, Alexander Dinelaris, and Nicolás Giacobone. The film is currently shooting in New York. BIRDMAN will come out sometime in 2014.
