Grant Gustin to Appear on ARROW as Barry Allen/Flash

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Grant Gustin has been cast as Barry Allen/Flash. As previously reported, the character will appear in episodes numbers 8, 9, and 20. The last episode will be the backdoor pilot for a new series. Geoff Johns and Arrow co-creators Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg will write the pilot to be directed by David Nutter.

According to the report, Allen is described as "a Central City assistant police forensic investigator who arrives in Starling to look into a series of unexplained robberies that may have a connection to a tragedy in his past. A comic book fan boy, Barry is obsessed with the Arrow unaware that working with Oliver and Felicity to solve the crime has brought him right into the dangerous world of the vigilante."

Gustin is best known for being the baddie on the show GLEE, and was also on the television series 90210.

The new season of ARROW begins October 9 on The CW.
