Ever wanted to read legendary British comic book 2000 AD but didn’t know where to start?

On 26th March, the weekly anthology comic will publish a special issue designed specifically to give new readers an easy place to start reading. ‘Prog’ 1874 will feature the first parts of five new stories, including two brand new series from some of the top talent the industry can offer.

Prog 1874 marks the return of Judge Dredd co-creator John Wagner to the strip with JUDGE DREDD: MEGA-CITY CONFIDENTIAL, drawn by Scottish artist Colin MacNeil. A whistleblower goes on the run, threatening to reveal all about what Justice Department is up to in the mysterious Section Seven.

Pat Mills’ Celtic barbarian Sláine also returns, with a brand new artist in a series Mills claims will top the artistic heights of Simon Bisley’s famous work on Sláine: The Horned God. Simon Davis’ exquisite painting adorns SLÁINE: A SIMPLE KILLING, in which the warrior travels to the ancient isle of Monadh to save a captured maiden.

New York Times best-seller Dan Abnett’s future hitmen Finnigan Sinister and Ramone Dexter are back in SINISTER DEXTER: GUN SHY, with art by Smudge, as they cross Generica and gather weaponry for their war against mob boss Moses Tanenbaum.

OUTLIER is a fresh new series from T.C. Eglington and Karl Richardson in which a private detective hunts an alien entity who picks off selected victims - could it have something to do with what happened to the crew of the salvage vessel Outlier?

And JAEGIR: STRIGOI by Gordon Rennie and Simon Coleby is set in the world of 2000 AD classic character Rogue Trooper. Kapitan-Inspector Atalia Jaegir serves in the Nordland State Security Police, hunting down the war criminals that have escaped justice!
