MGM announced today that the 23rd installment of the 007 franchise will start production late this year for a November 9, 2012 release. No title or story is known yet, but it will be directed by Sam Mendes who directed Road to Perdition and American Beauty.
Christopherleeweb.com posts that the actor is in talks to return to the Saruman role for the Hobbit (don't remember him being in the book). There are also rumors that David Tennant has been cast as Sindarin Elf King Thranduil. The Hobbit is scheduled for a December 19 2012 release.
