Despite the slow start, the movie has pulled in the second best opening ever for a Martin Luther King Jr. holiday weekend. It is estimated that it pulled $34 million nationally and $16 million internatioanlly. The studio thinks the film will gross $40.5 million through Monday, close to the $45 million prediction from box office analysts. The movie's budget was around $110 million.
