Oscar-nominated British actress Susannah York has died at the age of 72. She had been battling cancer. She's best known for playing Lara, Superman's mom in Superman: The Movie and Superman II. She was nominated for her performance in the 1969 movie "They Shoot Horses, Don't They?", about a grueling dance marathon.
She is survived by an ex-husband Michael Wells, and two children, Orlando and Sasha, who played her children in "A Christmas Carol." Orlando can also currently be seen playing the Duke of Kent in "The King's Speech." Our condolences to Ms. York's family and friends.
