Hobbit delayed again; Dark Knight in Dark Tower?; DD back @ Marvel?; DC tried to stop early FF release.
Production on the Hobbit has been delayed again. This time because Peter Jackson has a perforated ulcer. He was checked into a hospital and has had successful surgery.
The New York Post is reporting that Christian Bale is now the front runner to play the lead role in Ron Howard's adaptation of The Dark Tower. Is this a good choice? I haven't read the book to give an opinion one way or another.
Big Shiny Robot has done some research and it appears that, barring any trickery, Marvel Studios should regain the movie rights to Daredevil from 20th Century Fox in 2013. The studio has not made any recent comments about sequels or a reboot for the man without fear, so it's possible. The deal was for seven years and even though the Daredevil movie came out in 2003, he made a cameo in the Elektra movie in 2005.
Apparently, DC tried to stop the early release of this week's issue of Fantastic Four. Now if you been living in a cave or haven't been on the internet for a week or two, this was the "death" issue of a member of the team.
The argument given was that "Diamond would be seen as giving Marvel an unfair sales boost by allowing an early sale, bringing customers into the shop where other publisher’s comics for that week could not be sold." Now I remember DC sending out one issue of Blackest Night a week early during Christmas/New Year's break, but only to dealers who agreed NOT to sell it early. This could be an interesting situation to follow.
