Bleeding Cool is reporting that Marvel maybe following DC's example and will go to the 20 pages/$2.99 price point in May. DC started the $2.99 price this month in a move that was "mocked by the likes of Marvel’s CB Cebulski and Tom Brevoort." If true, who looks like an idiot now?
ComiXology announced today a storefront affiliate program where retailers can sell digital comics with ComiXology's library.
"By having a comiXology-powered store and reader integrated with our existing new and back-issue comics website, we will provide our customers with even more access to the comics they love while increasing their loyalty to us,” said Chris Powell, General Manager and CRO of Lone Star Comics and mycomicshop.com. “Having seen comiXology’s Retailer Tools and Pull List services, we trust comiXology’s technology to help us thrive in a market where customers are interested in both print and digital comics. ComiXology will help us provide the one-stop shopping that customers are looking for.”
Now this is cool. Way to go Comixology for doing this.
Apparently, there is a True Grit comic book. It was commissioned by Paramount Pictures to promote the movie starring Jeff Bridges, Matt Damon and Josh Brolin. If you go here, you can download a PDF file of the comic.
Comic Book Movie decided to have some fun and do the first Superhero Bowl. You check out the details here. This is cool, just don't do a superhero version of the NCAA Basketball Tournament. The Fellowship already has that covered! Oops, I wasn't supposed to say anything...yet.
Marvel released a teaser image for the final issue of Fantastic Four. It shows Spider-man probably trying to cheer up Franklin, Sue looking at replacement members and Reed looking at potential threats. The list of replacements is interesting. Black Panther and Storm are mentioned. Not gonna happen. Panther is busy with Hell's Kitchen and Storm is in Wakanda I think. It can't be Luke Cage because he is leading the New Avengers and the Thunderbolts. There is "She"and I assume that is She-Hulk, but which one? The obvious choice is Jennifer Walters, but there is also Lyra, Hulk's daughter from a future time-line. She could use a family environment to hang around, why not Marvel's First Family? Alex Power, not sure about that one. Do they want to bring in one member of the Power Pack? I guess it would make some sense so Alex can help Franklin in his grieving. Wyatt Wingfoot is a VERY interesting choice. Granted, no powers, but he's been a friend of the family for years and was Johnny's best buddy. Would he join the FF in memory of his best friend? What do you think?
