The Hobbit gets a start date; An all-star Rocketeer anthology?; More casting rumors; More Flashpoint teasers

After what seems to be endless series of delays, The Hobbit has a production start date of March 21st. I for one am ready to hear about progress in the shooting, not it's delays. Everybody cross your fingers!!!!

Hypergeek is reporting that IDW may be working on an anthology of the Rocketeer. The names that are attached includes Tommy Lee Edwards, Jonathan Ross, Tony Harris and Joe Pruett. Dave Stevens creation is very underrated. I loved reading the books and really enjoyed the movie. It's probably the best made comic book super hero movie ever made (better than the Richard Donner/Christopher Reeve Superman). I just wish it had received more attention than it did.

The latest casting rumor on the Wonder Woman TV series is that Tanit Phoenix is up for the title role, according to Comic Book Movie.com. She's been in movies such as "Lord of War", "Death Race 2", and "Lost Boys: The Thirst." Um...don't have too much of a problem if this is true. What do you guys think?

Also in superhero rumor "news," Yvonne Strahovskimay be up for the Carol Danvers/Ms. Marvel in the Avengers movie. OK, take this with a grain of salt (like all rumors). If she is in the movie, is she Carol Danvers, or Ms. Marvel? Can't see them doing her origin in the movie. As to Yvonne, I've never watched the TV show Chuck so I can't say one way or another. Again, what do you guys think?

Totally missed this Friday. DC's The Source released more teaser images for it's upcoming event Flashpoint. You ready? OK, here we go...

When did Cyborg become our protector of Truth, Justice and the American Way?
Why is Citizen Cold the greatest hero of Central City?

Where will the Ravager strike next?

Who is the Outsider and why is he better than you?

What is top secret?

The Source also reports that Dan Jurgens is returning to Booster Gold in issue 44, which is a lead in to the Flashpoint event.
