Marvel today released images from the upcoming New Avengers Annual #1. You can see the entire preview here. It sounds like Simon Williams has formed a new group in order to be more proactive than the Avengers. He's tired of Cap, Iron Man, and the rest not listening to him. LISTENING TO HIM? They guy who left the Avengers to become an actor and stuntman is pissed because he wasn't taken serious? Gee, I wonder why they did that? Let's look at his "team":Century - first time I've seen hi since the Force Works series and the Iron Man cartoon.
Captain Ultra - according to Wikipedia, he's over his fear of fire, so now he's a badass. LOL!
Devil Slayer - say no more
D-Man - Seriously? D-Man? It's short for Demolition Man, but it's also the level hero he is. D.
Anti-Venom - Eddie Brock, the former Venom. Why is he with this group?
Ethan Edwards - First time I've seen him since the Marvel Knights Spider-Man book. Superman ripoff.
Atlas and Goliath - Do you really need to heroes who can become giants? Really?
I applaud Brian Michael Bendis for going out on a limb, but geez. I guess we'll see how this goes September 7.
