Columbia pictures announced today that the sequel for The Amazing Spider-Man (a movie that won't come out until July 3, 2012) is scheduled for a May 2, 2014 release. This continues the trend of a Marvel movie begin released the same weekend Free Comic Book Day occurs (first Saturday in May). I guess Columbia feels confident from the response of the teaser trailer, plus how the previous movies fared, that it's OK to go ahead and do this. WOW.
