Bleeding Cool is reporting that Diamond Distributors announced that starting in 2012, there will be a Free Comic Book Day type of event in October. The announcement was made this morning at the New York Comic Con Retailer’s Breakfast. Big and small comic book companies will be creative exclusive content for the event and comic book stores will be invited to participate. No actual date has been announced, but if it's Halloween related, it might be the last Saturday of October (but that's pure speculation on my part).
This is a great idea. I know Les gives out comics instead of candy to trick or treaters, and he'll be happy to hear this as well. As more info comes out, we'll let you know.
