Dan Trachtenberg To Direct Y: THE LAST MAN Film

Deadline is reporting that New Line Cinema has brought Dan Trachtenberg onboard to direct the movie adaptation of Y: THE LAST MAN.

The Vertigo title, which ran from 2002 to 2008 told the story of Yorick Brown and his monkey Ampersand - the only males alive on Earth after something killed off all the other male mammals on the planet. The series was by Brian K. Vaughn (SAGA, PRIDE OF BAGHDAD) and Pia Guerra (DOCTOR WHO: THE FORGOTTEN).

This will be Trachtenberg's feature debut. He has directed a few commercials and a short film PORTAL: NO ESCAPE, which is based off the video game PORTAL. The report states that Benderspink and David Goyer are producing.
