DC: No more Code; Iron Man out, Captain Jack in?; Magneto, Xavier and teaser poster
DC Comics has released a statement saying that they are no longer have the Comics Code Authority Seal of Approval on their books. They will use the rating system that most companies (Marvel being the first back in 2001) use. To see the breakdown, click the link. IMHO, the code is an outdated form of policing the comics. The world is totally different compared to what it was when the code was created (1950s). You can see the rating system here.
Robert Downey Jr. has dropped out of Sam Raimi's Oz The Great and Powerful. Johnny Depp is in negotiations to replace him. Not sure what the movie is about, but boy Depp is busy. Between another couple of Pirates movies, The Lone Ranger (still can't see that, but oh well) now this...
Pictures of Magneto and Professor X, as well as the teaser poster for X-Men: First Class have been released. Newsarama has the other pics, plus the story that director Matthew Vaughn was not happy about the group photo that was "released" a couple of days ago. You can hit the link to read his comments.
Well, it's been a couple of days and I don't think I like the initial photo any better than when I first saw it. Of all the superhero movies that are scheduled to be released this year, this is the one that has me most concerned. I hope that I am wrong, but I don't think that I am.
