Michael Chiklis heading to new show? No Ordinary Family No More?

Several sites (all citing Deadline) are saying that Michael Chiklis is set to star in Vince Uncensored, which centers on a man who, after a life-changing experience, decides to take a more honest approach to his life, work and family. Phoef Sutton wrote the script and is executive producing with Conan O’Brien and David Kissinger.

What about No Ordinary Family? It sounds like Chiklis and others have some hope for a second season, but according to TV by the Numbers' Renew/Cancel Index it's on the "certain to be cancelled by May, 2011"list. The other super hero TV show The Cape, while no formal cancellation announcement has been made yet, considering what NBC has done with the show (chopping the series from 13 to 10 episodes, then not airing the final episode - posting it to the official website) the writing is on the wall.

What does this mean to future superhero TV shows? Who knows. We know that next season we'll see Wonder Woman (NBC) and Raven (CW) as mid-season replacements. FX has greenlit a pilot Powers and there's talk of an A.K.A. Jessica Jones TV series coming soon. Marvel/Disney/ABC have a few other properties they want to bring to television, but it makes you wonder A.) how long of a leash will they have and B.) How altered will the characters be to ensure that the general public will watch and continue to watch. Stay tuned.....
